"Csetvei Mori Barrel Aged Ezerjo is a dry, full-bodied white wine from Mór, Hungary.
This is pure Ezerjó, a local variety, handpicked, sorted and gently pressed for only the finest fruit. Spontaneous fermentation occurs using the wild yeasts, and it is matured in Hungarian oak barrels for six months. ‘H’ on the label is for ‘hordó', Hungarian for barrel. Expect hazelnut, floral notes, peach, spices and citrus with a saline finish."
This winery was founded and is owned by Krisztina Csetvei. She studied marketing and management at University, and in 2006 did work experience for the Beres Wineryin Tokaj. They gave her a WSET course voucher for Christmas – and that was it. She fell in love with wine. After a 3 years marketing at a huge corporation her plans came to fruition in 2011 when the Csetvei Cellar was born with the renovation of an old, traditional wine cellar in the town of Mór.
Now after 12 harvests, Krisztina has become a leading force in a new generation of Hungarian winemakers focusing on native varietals, organic farming, and “natural wines.”
The wines of Csetvei Pince have enchanted us. Each varietal displays its own unique personality but the overarching quality in all of Kristina’s wines is that they are so seamless. The bold fruit, the acidity, the oak are all totally integrated, as if that was always so. A remarkable blend of power and elegance.
