"96 Points - Tim Atkin MW
The Gran Reserva comes from slightly better vineyards, according to Angel Urbina and has a little more power than some the bodega’s wines. Everything is relative, however, as this is still an elegant, graceful, savoury wine with haunting balsamic sweetness. Drink 2019 – 2025.

Rich, round and sweet – caressing – with almost a hint of one of those coffee sweet reds of the Cape. It is good value for such a mature wine, and it makes a big impact Drinking 2019 – 2025."
Urbina are a traditional Rioja house producing wines of great integrity, the estates have been in the family since 1870 and extend to 75 hectares, and the average age of the vines is 50 years old. The house produces wines with lovely fragrance, and delicious mature flavours on the strawberry spectrum. Elegant, graceful and juicy – perfect with lamb!
