Bright, full ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry, black raspberry, licorice, dark chocolate and sweet oak spices are lifted by a violet topnote. Creamy and subtly sweet, with high-class oak and nicely integrated acidity giving shape to the flavors of black raspberry, currant and dark chocolate. This very glossy wine finishes with fine-grained tannins and lovely persistence. Balanced from day one but has the density to evolve slowly and positively in bottle. Reviewed January 2015"

Cobos Malbec represents "true north" for Viña Cobos; it is the founding inspiration for the Argentinean portfolio. It is produced only in exceptional vintages from the oldest vines (60 to 80 years) in the Marchiori Vineyard. It exhibits levels of concentration and power rarely achieved in Argentina – or in other top winegrowing regions of the world – for that matter.
