Red Effect - Relates to the story of founder and grandfather Ivan Doppler, who returning from Dachau at the end of WW II was only 46 kilos, very weak and sick. His doctor recommended a glass of red wine a day. Thanks to the red wine effect, he lived to be 93!
50 % Zweigelt and 50 % Modra Frankinja (Blaufränkisch). Grapes for this cuvee come from an extremely steep, 15-year-old vineyard planted in marl and facing to the south. The varieties underwent spontaneous fermentation on natural yeast. Prior to the final assemblage it matured for 9 months in new barrique barrels on fine lees. The result is a translucent, ruby red with a dense texture.
