"Joe Czerwinski 93/100
Muirkirk is located in the Bannockburn subregion, next to Felton Road. The 2015 Muirkirk Vineyard Pinot Noir is a slightly darker style than the other Mount Edward wines, with plummy fruit and notions of cola and spice. It's a medium to full-bodied wine, with supple tannins that maybe aren't as silky-fine as those found in Gibbston wines, but they ripen more reliably. Drink Date 2018 - 2025 The Wine Advocate Feb 2018"
Muirkirk vineyard is situated on Felton Road in Bannockburn on a gentle north west sloping corner. Otago has a continental climate, unlike most of New Zealand which is maritime. With tiny rainfall and big diurnal temperature variations it's the perfect climate to make quality grapes. Duncan Forsyth took the estate organic in 2006. No filtration or fining.
