2008 Saltram Mamre Brook Shiraz, Barossa Valley
"Saltram’s ‘Mamre Brook’ is a classic full throttle Barossa Shiraz. The 2008 has enormous colour, a really bold inviting bouquet of sweet dark fruit, and an equally impressive palate with excellent density. This is a classic Barossa Shiraz with sweetness from 22 months in US and French oak, combined with well judged tannins that have now rounded out. The bottle age of this parcel means the wine is now at its peak, with opulent fruit and plenty of freshness and vitality. A super winter warmer.
Mamre Brook is one of the most famous places in the Barossa Valley and the wines featuring the grand old Mamre Brook house on the label are among Australia's favourites. The wines stand proud as a tribute to their heritage at the heart of the Barossa with all fruit sourced exclusively from this great region.
