"'Chairman’s Cognac Trophy Winner - 96 points' Ultimate spirits challenge, 2014
The bouquet is long and intense. Enticingly perfumed and richly fragrant with fruity notes of apricot and citrus followed by vanilla 'rancio'. On the palate Pale & Dry is full, mellow and deeply mature. Intense fruitiness gives way to a subtle but lingering sensation of liquorice. The finish is exquisitely balanced, each characteristic is perfectly matched by its exact opposite; it is a cognac for the connoisseur."
Established in 1759, Delamain’s simple objective is to remain faithful to tradition by offering Cognacs of the purest and most genuine expression. First introduced almost a century ago, Pale & Dry X.O is composed exclusively of eaux-de-vie sourced from the Grande Champagne region, Cognac’s finest 'terroir'. Aged for an average of 25 years, Pale & Dry is a unique blend of Cognacs that showcase the Delamain style. Remarkably delicate and elegant, each of the Cognacs have been aged separately, then joined together (or married) for a further two years, to create a stunning and cohesive cognac that has a light shade of amber and flecks of gold throughout.
'Pale' because no caramel is added for colouring, 'Dry' because it has only its natural sweetness, no sugar added.
