""Complex, intense nose, not primary, more subtle spice and mandarin. The palate shows a creamy texture, layered and with some savoury notes. Very, very pure mid palate, notes of apricot and a hint of hazelnut. Very, Very long. Delicious"."
The Crochet family, have cultivated the hills of Bué in Sancerre since the 16th century.
Jean-Marc Crochet joined his father in 1980, then Mathieu followed in 2007.
Situated between Bourges and Sancerre, Bué is a charming "Sancerois" village surrounded by vineyards that stretch the length of the valley, reaching their apogee in the Circque de la Poussie, a natural amphitheatre.
Only 2000 bottles of Chene Marchand are produced, 10% of which DBM has taken.
Chene Marchand is a particularly prized plot on the slopes of Bué reputed for its marl and gravel terroir which allows the Sauvignon Blanc to express its full potential. Extended contact on the lees gives this wine added complexity, concentration and texture. Very limited quantity of this 2017.
