"“Attractive dark, dense colour. The expressive nose displays a subtle blend of black fruits (Morello cherry, blackcurrant) and gentle oak. On the palate, the wine is broad and fleshy, the lovely black fruit enhanced by pleasantly supple tannins. You can really taste the top Cru Classe pedigree in the glass.""
2016 was a great Claret vintage and Bordeaux De Gloria is a superbly crafted, very affordable red from this outstanding year – widely considered among the best ever! Using 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot from young St Julien vines and mature vineyards outside the appellation, it's made by the team at Gloria to the same high standard as their Grand Vin.
This is the kind of wine that we love to find – exquisitely crafted, impeccably sourced claret from one of the most highly regarded estates in Bordeaux. The team at benchmark St-Julien estate Chateau Gloria, led by Remy di Constanzo (formerly of Cos-d'Estournel) have made a seriously great value claret that looks and tastes expensive, yet is affordable enough to drink every day.
The 2016 hasn’t yet been tasted by the critics, but the 2015 was awarded 90 points by Wine Enthusiast and James Suckling gave it an impressive 91 points. We think that the 2016 is even better. We tasted a sample last week in order to bring you this offer... and everyone loved it! It has lots of ripe black fruit, full body, round, silky tannins and a long finish.
