GOLD MEDAL GILBERT & GAILLARD 2015
The wood aging and the fruit tannins are integrating well, giving a wine that is bright, packed with fruit, that will age well over the medium term. The cuvée undergoes elevage in a combination of 40% barrel and 60% in vat.
In the early 1980s, Mr. Denis Ducos took over Haut-Grignon from his parents with his wife, Léa. The estate is close to Valeyrac in the northern Médoc and has undergone considerable renovation and re-planting, and been enlarged by buying parcels of old vines. The Haut-Grignon label is reserved for wine produced from the oldest vines that are harvested by hand at full ripeness.
