"87 pts Robert Parker.
Garnet colour with a narrow purplish halo. Pungent aromas of black cherries, blackberries, cassis and fresh plum. Delicate floral notes with rose petals and violets blossom adding elegance and complexity. Velvety texture, characteristic of Croft. Balance of lively acidity and firm but well integrated tannins. The palate has intense flavours of wild berries and an exuberant finish with notes of strawberry and cherry. A Reserve of fruity character, characteristic of the Croft style."
The 430th Anniversary celebrations commemorate the house's establishment in 1588 and the rich history of the oldest port company in operation.
To commemorate the event, the company has decided to produce a limited edition port, the Croft 430th Anniversary Celebration Edition. The labels display re-production of the work "Sinking of the Spanish Armada in 1588" by the Dutch artist Jan Luyken, which is part of the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
