"Antonio Galloni 95/100
The 2016 Barolo Bussia is laced with a whole range of sweet floral and balsamic overtones, along with striking underpinnings of structure and tannin that give the wine its shape. A wine of energy, tension and nuance, the Bussia is just superb in 2016. Time in the glass brings out its ample, expansive richness. I can't wait to see how it ages. 2024-2036 vinous.com, February 2020
Matthew Hemming 96/100
Aromatically this falls between the Costa Grimaldi and the Cannubi in that it combines the extra dimensions and intensity of the latter with some of the expressive qualities of the former. Scented and open, it has a scent of ripe red and black cherry fruit, blossom, roses, earth and a hint of high-toned lift - a twist of balsamic. Loads of energy and lift on the palate - this is far more expressive and aerial than the Cannubi yet still structured and serious. As it aerates the rose character gains in intensity and starts to dominate in a very attractive way. Stylish, fragrant and elegant - with a silky texture, an inner sweetness, and a real sense of poise - this is potentially a great wine."
