Château Larcis Ducasse, Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé, has been in the Gratiot Alphandéry family since 1893. In 2002, Nicolas Thienpont became manager. The typicity of Larcis Ducasse is due to its terroir of clay-limestone soil on south facing slopes which produces marvellously ripe grapes. The wine's fresh, mineral flavours combined with complexity and structure come from the asteriated lin estone bedrock on the plateau part of the vineyard associated with iron rich feldspar sand at the base of the slope. Natural viticultural methods and low yields combined with
gentle extraction and aging in barrel highlight the elegance and the inimitable character of this terroir. ©ugcb
