Beaune Clos du Roi (the name references Louis XI who once owned this vineyard) is a 1er cru lying in the north of the Beaune region where the wines tend to be fresher and finer. Clos du Roi combines freshness with intensity and concentration thanks to its distinctive brown limestone soils.
