Cantina del Pino remains one of the under the radar jewels in Barbaresco. Some of proprietor Renato Vacca's neighbors get more attention. Make no mistake about it, though, over the last decade or so some of the best wines in town have emerge from this small cellar perched atop Ovello. The 2005s and 2004s I tasted were all strong, especially for an estate that had been bottling wine (rather than selling grapes) for only a few years when these wines were made.
