Denis Alary is the tenth generation to make wine here in the small Rhône village of Cairanne. The wines are biodynamic and made predominantly from Grenache, with some Syrah and Mourvèdre. With similar soils and grape varieties, it is not surprising that the wines are similar in character and richness to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, though they are very much in a soft and elegant style and are fantastic for drinking in their youth. These wines are superb value for money. The domaine will be certified organic from the 2012 vintage.
