"A well regarded vintage for Pomerol where the early ripening Merlot was harvested prior to September rains that affected other parts of the region."
A micro-vinification produced by Olivier Cazenave from a parcel of old vines that lie within the boundary of Ch l'Enclos. 97% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. There are two soil types - silty clay on gravel with ferruginous and marly elements and the other is composed of clay and limestone on top of iron.
Hand picked and unusually vinified in cask (500 litres), followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels. Matured on fine lees during 18 months.
