Located on the famous Route des Châteaux, this elegant neoclassic estate covers some 250 hectares, of which 85 is planted with vines. These include Château Labégorce Margaux, Château Labégorce Zédé, and the recently-acquired Château Marquis d'Alesme, a 3rd growth also from the Margaux appellation. Bordering on Châteaux Margaux and Lascombes, Labégorce was listed in the 1868 edition of "Bordeaux and its Wines" by Edouard Féret, who mentions that the history of the maison de Noble de la Bégorce goes back to 1332. The château is presented as "one of the most beautiful and well-sited in the commune of Margaux". Since he purchased the estate in 1989, Monsieur Hubert Perrodo has given new splendour to the château building, the vineyard, and the cellar. ©ugcb
