Chateau Lanessan has belonged to eight generations of the Bouteiller family since the 18th Century. Situated near to St Julien, the vineyards are located on a fine ridge of deep Garonne gravel and comprise 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Fruit is sorted by hand before fementation in insulated concrete vats; the resultant wine spends 12 months ageing in 1/3 new French oak before bottling
