2000 Ch Beau-Site, Cru Bourgeois, St Estèphe

For Delivery in Summer 2025

Tasting Notes

"Colour still deep, beautifully mature with such an inviting nose, the bouquet is a lovely expression of cedary, lead pencil mature claret, the equally ripe and silky palate has completely melted tannins, enjoy now and for the next 3 to 4 years. Aidan - Tasted April 2025"

Vineyard Information

Beau-Site means beautiful site: Chateau Beau-Site, neighbour to Chateau Calon-Ségur, lies on one of Médoc’s highest points, and one has a fantastic view over the river Gironde. Beau-Site's 18th century underground cellar is one of the oldest in the Médoc and presents the perfect maturing conditions for a wine that is vinified with the same care and technique as a Grand Cru Classé.

Vintage Description

The 2000 vintage is widely regarded as one of Bordeaux’s top years with success across the region, an initially indifferent start to the growing season was saved by warm dry summer weather and a glorious harvest with only a splash of September rain to give a final lift of energy to the fruit. Tannin levels were amongst the highest recorded at the time and have given the vintage excellent longevity when stored in appropriate conditions. This parcel of wine direct from the Chateau cellars is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a classic claret in its mature glory.
