"The second wine of Doisy Vedrines, ideal for early drinking. 80% Semillon, 17% Sauvignon, 3% Muscadelle.
There is a lot of freshness in this wine, aromas such as fresh pineapple, mango and other citrus fruits. There is a very good balance, not too much sugar in mouth and a good vivacity, which gives the wine this finesse and digestible character that makes you want to come back for more!
For an aperitif on its own or with foie gras or ideal with blue cheese like Stilton towards the end of the meal."
The Chevaliers de Védrines owned this château for centuries, and gave it their name. The estate was acquired by the ancestors of the current owners in the mid 19th century. Doisy-Védrines is located on a clay-limestone outcrop in Haut-Barsac. The soil is cultivated in the traditional manner and the grapes are very carefully picked in several waves. They are lightly pressed to extract only the best juice. The wine is aged in oak barrels and a combination of modern techniques and age-old winemaking practices give Doisy-Védrines the richness and finesse consumers look for in the finest Sauternes great growths. ©ugcb
