"The nose is bright and crunchy, full of cassis with a graphite freshness and red-berried lift. The palate is classically styled and savoury. Glossy bramble fruit balances the smooth tannins, making this wine surprisingly approachable style of Pauillac that drinks well from a young age, and offers charm and character after an hour in a decanter. The 2020 Pauillac wines in general are powerful, fresh and elegant, with reasonable alcohol levels, good density tannins and higher acidity compared to previous vintages."
This is the "unofficial 3rd Growth" from Ch Lafite-Rothschild. We are able to secure a limited quantity each year and as you can imagine it is consistently high quality.
Made under the supervision of oenologist, Diane Flamand, with the same care and attention to detail as is applied to the Grands Vins, Reserve Speciale is produced from young vines at DBR (Lafite)’s own vineyards at Ch Lafite, Duhart Milon and neighbouring vineyards.
