Located north of the village of Margaux, Château Lascombes stands among the most prestigious vineyards in the world. Its second wine, Chevalier de Lascombes, bears witness to its first owner, Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes, born in 1625. The main characteristics of this second classified growth are power, concentration, fruit and elegance. Its current owners are concerned by quality only. As a result, the yield has been drastically reduced. Thanks to a new state-of-the-art winery,
Château Lascombes marries modern technics (sorting tables, cold maceration before fermentation, malolactic fermentation in barrels, ageing on the lies in barrels for four months with the Oxoline rack system) with traditional winemaking methods (barrel ageing for 18 months in 80% new oak, eggwhite fining etc).
