"This old vine Zinfandel immediately opens up with black raspberry and clove spice aromas on the nose. A full-bodied wine with layers of brambly fruit flavours, leather, spiced mocha and toasted coconut. The tannins are velvety and well-integrated, giving the wine a plush and soft mouthfeel. This is a bright and fruit-forward wine with good acidity that leads to a long lasting and flavourful finish."
The majority of the grapes come from the sun-drenched Lodi region as well as Madera County, Clarksburg, and Dry Creek Valley Sonoma. Lodi fruit brings bright, warm weather character while the slightly cooler Clarksburg region brings the structure as well as the enticing briar patch characteristics.
