"Classic Riesling bouquet, clear, slate mineral, ripe yellow fruit aromas. Delicate Riesling, rich in finesse, long mineral, very animating. The grapes for this Riesling come from the various steep slopes of our winery, characterised by blue-gray Devonian slate, and live up to their name.
The grapes were harvested in October, gently crushed, and given several hours of skin contact to extract aroma and minerals. The must fermented spontaneously and slowly at low temperature so that the complex fruit aroma could develop perfectly. Thereafter, the wine received extended maturation on its lees in stainless steel and wooden vats."

Tourists flock from all around the world to marvel at the medieval castles, ancient timber-framed houses, the gravity-defying vineyards and the world’s lightest, most cerebral whites. The combination of aspect, angle and age of vines all contribute to this unique microclimate that sees Riesling ripen to perfection whilst retaining acidity and forming a myriad of aromas.
This little slice of grape-growing heaven is deftly exploited by Markus Molitor, one of the world’s greatest winemakers with plots in the finest sites.
