"Ruby red in the glass with violet reflections. Intense scent on the nose with fruity aromas of sour cherry, strawberry, cherry and notes of medicinal plants (Artemisia). Smooth on the palate with aromas of red fruits, present tannins without excess and slightly milky notes on the finish."
Crochet is a well-known name in Sancerre, with many branches of the family producing wines under different labels. Jean-Marc and his son Mathieu have been working together since 2007 and we are particularly keen on the precision and finesse they achieve in their wines. Their cellars are in Bué, a charming "Sancerrois" village surrounded by vineyards on hills forming a natural amphitheatre. Their vineyards are mainly on the higher hillsides where there is clay mixed with the limestone which Jean-Marc is convinced brings an extra complexity of spices to the intense mineral character.
