"Aidan Bell
"30% of the 2021 vintage was lost to frost in these vineyards, but the surviving fruit was in excellent condition and has produced a delicious wine. 50% of the crop vinified in 500l casks and the balance in traditional 228l barrels – no new oak. Bottled August 2022.
A polished green gold hue with beautiful clarity of fruit on the nose including white pear, there is the loveliest tension and energy. The palate is also immediately rich and flattering with beautifully integrated fruit. A ‘Classic Vintage’ that is brim full of energy and lovely precise flavours" Tasted Oct 2022"
Jean Chartron is the 5th generation to manage his family domaine, founded in 1859 and in the past decade has seen a resurgence in the quality of wine being produced here. With 14 hectares, including Grand Cru’s and 1er Cru Monopole vineyards, they are an important vineyard proprietor in Puligny and have long been one of the high profile Domaines of the village. Jean-Michel and his sister Anne-Laure are producing outstanding wines. DBM Christmas favourite!
