"Aidan - DBM
Beautiful blue fruit on the nose, seamless and inviting, the nose has a pretty new world ripeness whilst the palate has a classic Lafite elegance. A lovely interpretation of this variety from a highly skilled team. Not a blockbuster but not a shrinking violet either - a delicious bottle that will happily empty itself..."
Vina Los Vascos, is one of Chile’s oldest and most highly esteemed estates. Under the auspices of the internationally revered Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1988, they are best known for their reds which stand among the very best in Chilean wine today. The Los Vascos Carmenere Grande Reserve took three years to develop. This variety, which has almost disappeared from its native France is now a flagship grape in Chile. The main objective was to pick the grapes at perfect ripeness, by controlling irrigation and yields and through a selective harvest. The wine was matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which were new.
