William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Alex Moreau is one of the most talented and diligent producers of white Burgundy in the Côte de Beaune today, and his 2015s are exceptional, their bright acids and focused intensity frequently confounding stereotypes of the vintage. Moreau is one of several winemakers who observed that the 2015 whites were remarkably stable in the presence of oxygen, and believes his wines have everything they need to age. The king of his 1er crus is the Grandes Ruchottes, from a parcel of vines planted in 1939 which was partially replanted in 2016, a wine which would embarrass many grands crus.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 91/100
Domaine Bernard Moreau's 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes offers up a fragrant bouquet of apple, pear, peach and white flowers, framed by light reduction that rapidly dissipates with aeration. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied and more structurally open-knit and expansive than the Vergers, with lovely purity and a juicy, fragrant finish.
