2020 Coteaux Bourguignons, Albert Fontaine

Tasting Notes

Great colour - lovely bold juicy wine. Ripe and refreshing Gamay without aggressive acidity. Lovely succulent berry fruit with slightly chunky tannin for refreshing balance, really great value - Aidan Bell

Vineyard Information

Michel Paquet started Domaine des Valanges in 1980 with the purchase of 2.5 ha in Davayé and over the years has acquired other plots with the estate now expanded to 11 ha, 8 of which are in the heart of the St Véran appellation.

The domaine's relative youth compared to many of the neighbouring vineyards, has allowed Michel more flexibility to experiment and innovate with their wines, without the burden of maintaining family traditions.

They decided to create the label Albert Fontaine for their Coteaux Bourguignons as a tribute to a very old friend of the family, who helped the Paquet family to create their innovative wines.
