Roberto Sarotto is the seventh generation to lead this family-owned estate. Until his arrival at the helm, the family sold their grapes to cooperatives and other growers. From 1991, he has vinified all the estate’s grapes. Dolcetto is the everyday wine of the local people of the Langhe hills.
Dolcetto d’Alba DOC Angeli comes from south/south-east facing vines planted on limestone grey clay. Cold maceration the skins for about six days. The wine spends between eight and ten months in stainless steel and bottle before release. It’s a juicy little bomb!
Interestingly it was Dolcetto that laid the foundations of the Sarotto family’s success; they used to ship it in bulk to England in the early 1900s!
