2018 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint Jean, Domaine Paul Pillot

Tasting Notes

Neal Martin 91/100
The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos St Jean 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with orange pith, mango and light petrolly scents (similar to those I discerned on the Les Mazures). The palate is well balanced with a sapid opening. Slightly honeyed in texture, this is definitely a spicy Chassagne with ginger and lemongrass lining the persistent finish. This has the upper hand over the Les Mazures. Vinous.com Tasted Jan 2020

William Kelley 90-92/100
The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean unfurls to reveal hints of citrus oil and crisp green apple, complemented by notions of almond paste and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied, chalky and layered, this is a mineral, succulent Clos Saint-Jean that should show well young. The Wine Advocate
