2017 Dr Loosen Red Slate Dry Riesling, Mosel
A fruit driven wine with a note of Peach and red berries, this has weight and density with a lovely mouthwatering finish.
Fermented with naturally occurring yeast in 3,000 litre neutral oak casks, then allowed to develop in cask on its lees for a further 8 to 12 months before bottling.
The Dr. Loosen estate has been in the family for over 200 years and possesses some of Germany’s most respected and spectacular vineyards. Top sites from the villages of Bernkastel, Graach, Wehlen, Ürzig and Erden present their own different characteristics like red slate, blue slate, red volcanic conglomerate soil, dangerously steep slopes and in some cases ungrafted vines that can be up to 140 years old.
