"The 2017 is full, richly-textured, with admirable ripeness and purity - as you’d expect from such an outstanding vintage. Opulent nutty apple, creamy citrus and lovely notes of peaches and white plums, it has a wonderful fresh yet creamy texture, generous weight and a clean, refreshing minerality on the finish."
Based in Auxey Duresses, Vincent Prunier has quietly established a fine reputation for himself. Starting out in 1988 when he inherited 2 hectares from his parents, his Domaine now extends to 13 hectares in the Cote de Beaune with vineyards in Puligny, Chassagne, Meursault, Saint Aubin and of course Auxey-Duresses. Vincent has long advocated ploughing his vineyards to encourage deeper roots which in turn enables vines to capture the complexity and "terroir" of each site.
"Among growers, a little-known yet superb producer is young Vincent Prunier in Auxey-Duresses. Vincent Prunier works in a small winery behind his modest home. His winemaking is ideal: fresh, pure, free of extraneous oakiness and concentrated. Supplies are limited, but because he’s largely unheralded, prices are reasonable." Matt Kramer, Los Angeles Times.
