Taylor's continue their now-annual tradition of supplying liquid, specially packaged fiftieth birthday gifts (there won't be many other drinkable 1968s from anywhere in the world) and this tawny, with its flavours of vanilla, candied citrus and walnuts, is particularly pure and well balanced. Pretty gorgeous from the get go, with toasted sesame, green tea, walnut husk, pistachio cream and peanut toffee notes seamlessly layered atop each other, framed by a subtle singed alder hint. Everything glides with grace through the finish, like a gently wafting plume of white smoke off of burning incense. Drink now. 750 cases made. Nov 2017"
Single Harvest Ports are blended wines from a single year which have been aged in oak casks. They are fully mature and ready to drink when bottled. A long period of wood ageing gives them their characteristic amber colour, smooth velvety palate, warm mellow flavours and nose full of rich complex aromas. Single Harvest Ports are ready for immediate drinking and do not need to be decanted.
This is presented in a classic Taylor’s frosted bottle, and packaged in a high quality beech-wood box.
