Médaille d'Or au Concours Général Agricole Paris 2020
Light salmon pink in colour with an apricot hue, the nose offers white peach and lovely floral notes, whilst the palate has a touch of pear and lovely density of fruit, the finish is mouthwatering, long and full of energy. An excellent multi award winning wine from 30 year old vines.
Fermented at no higher than 18°C to preserve the beautiful aromatics, malolactic fermentation is blocked to preserve freshness and energy. Lees stirring is undertaken during elevage to enhance the richness and body in the wine.
Located in the heart of the Camargue, famous for its wild horses and flamingos, this 120 hectare property is run by the delightful sisters Brigitte and Nathalie Bruel. Sand (Sable) takes the place of soil here, a unique geological phenomena where the ground is composed only of silica and limestone, without any trace of clay or silt.
Being at sea level restricts the depth the vines can reach, acting like a rocky table, the high water level causes the roots to spread across the surface of the vineyard. Warm sea breezes introduce moisture, and the presence of the lakes encourages condensation and dew. This unusual location has proven perfect for the production of this delicious crisp Gris de Gris, which has a lovely light rosé colour, and is a blend of 70% Grenache Gris and Grenache Noir and 30% Cinsault. It is aged for six months in concrete vats and bottled in the spring following the harvest. The domaine has been fully certified as organic since 2012
