The wine derives its name from the historic Magill Vineyard located in the Adelaide foothills, South Australia. It is the birthplace of Penfolds and the first vineyard established by Dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold in 1844. The vineyard is now 6 hectares in size and consists entirely of Shiraz vines, aged between 25 and 45 years. This wine shows the elegant structure that results from the use of Shiraz grapes picked a little early and is a more contemporary and refined style compared to Penfolds' traditional red wines.
