"A subtly floral nose and elegant texture on the palate – an interesting alternative to Chablis, the 2009 was a Silver Medal winner at the DWWA 2010."
Tramin, founded in 1898 has 280 member winegrowers who follow its strict directives on the cultivation of the vines and covers 230 ha of vineyards situated on the sunny slopes of Alto Adige at an altitude ranging from 250 to 700m above sea level. The sleepy village of Tramin where the winery is situated is thought to be the birthplace of the Traminer white grape variety, otherwise known as Gewurztraminer. In 2011, Tramin proudly gained the "Stella", an award given to wineries for achieving the prestigious '3 Bicchieri' 20 times as awarded by Gambero Rosso (The Italian Wine Bible).
