"Big colour, strong to the rim, good velvety nose, palate with good structured tannin, this is really well balanced
The Guibert family, Vigneron of the Mas de Daumas Gassac produces this affordable Languedoc using the skills they have developed at their famous property Mas de Daumas Gassac."
The domaine of Daumas Gassac is quite rightly renowned for its stunning Mas de Daumas Gassac, "The Lafite of the Languedoc" but there is a hidden gem in their range, produced with a real drive and passion, available at a price allowing us to enjoy it every day.
Moulin de Gassac, is a range of wines born out of the Guilbert family's desire to save the precious old vine vineyards of some of the Languedoc's best terroir from being grubbed up by Brussels diktat. The produce of over 7,000 small parcels of vines, mostly ungrafted and low yielding, are collected together and vinified at Mas de Daumas. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Carignan are all vinified together in the traditional manner to create a wonderfully true expression of the Languedoc.
'Guilhem' is a typical blend of Languedoc grapes: Syrah (30%), Grenache (30%), Carignan (25%), Cinsault (15%) from 25 year old vines. The wine was 100% de-stemmed prior to vinification, and all varieties were fermented together. After elevage the wine is bottled without filtration.
