"90 Points - Aidan Bell
Colour still deep, with bricking on rim. Nose is immediately attractive with lovely savoury notes and plenty of freshness, palate is gentle and completely integrated, the tannins are still quite present and this certainly counts as a 'food' wine. Much livelier than I anticipated and tannins whilst present are not severe and fruit not drying out either. This is a really honest bottle of claret that is still thoroughly enjoyable. Cork seems to be an early version of Diam. Tasted August 2024"
Chateau Lanessan has belonged to eight generations of the Bouteiller family since the 18th Century. Situated near to St Julien, the vineyards are located on a fine ridge of deep Garonne gravel and comprise 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Fruit is sorted by hand before fementation in insulated concrete vats; the resultant wine spends 12 months ageing in 1/3 new French oak before bottling
