"This has a lovely depth of colour and a nose of soft dark plummy fruit that is already completely accessible. The palate is equally gentle and softly textured, it takes about 30 minutes to open up but then offers delicious ripe Merlot with supple tannins that identify this wine as proper right bank claret. This is a really well judged glass of wine, ripe, but not pushed too far, the freshness imparts energy and this is delicious with or without food. The natural ripeness of the vintage has delivered exceptional value whether you are looking for a classic to serve for pre-dinner drinks or a great value soft glugger to enjoy at a meal or family party this really does hit he spot."
Chateau Terre Blanche is made by Laurent Massarin, 4th generation winemaker at his family estate in Saint-Genes-de-Castillon. Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux is bordered to the west by the Saint Emilion appellation. It has attracted a lot of attention from Saint Emilion winemakers and drinkers in recent years who have spotted the tremendous potential of Castillon.
